Mara Jeffress, Ph.D. is a Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Cancer Cellular and Molecular Biologist and a Fellow of the National Cancer Institute’s Integrative Cancer Biology Program.  She has been a professional resume and cover letter writer for 10 years and offers ad hoc career advice to graduate students, postdocs, colleagues, and anyone who will listen.  While in graduate school, she co-founded a career seminar series at the Univ of Washington that is currently in it’s 10th year.  She is the President and ex-Program Director of the East Bay Chapter of AWIS.

 

Leala Thomas, MBA is a biopharmaceutical business communications professional currently in transition. With a combined background in academic research, pharmaceutical sales and marketing, and teaching, she has an ongoing interest in learning new approaches and advocates volunteering as a way to upgrade a skill set. Over the past several months in her personal search, she has utilized many of the techniques that will be presented.  Leala is Member-at-large & Newsletter editor for East bay chapter of AWIS.
